My interest in the world of pharmacy began during my Freshman at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. After moving back to the Kansas City area to finish my pharmacy prerequisites, I was able to begin working at Red Cross Pharmacy, now CVS Pharmacy, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Here, I have developed a passion for helping patients understand their medication, finding cost-saving solutions, and providing information regarding over-the-counter or lifestyle modification recommendations.
Throughout pharmacy school, I became interested in the various career opportunities available for pharmacists. This led me to enroll in an elective focused on the pharmaceutical industry and co-founding a local chapter of Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO). I have developed another passion for critically evaluating and presenting medical information and literature. To me, this is the cornerstone of the modern-day pharmacist and I have sought opportunities on my advanced practice experiential education rotations to grow and improve these skills.
